David Mahoney retired from public service in May 2021 after serving his fourth term as sheriff of Dane County, Wisconsin. He was first elected in November 2006 to become the 52nd Dane County Sheriff. He has been a professional law enforcement officer for 41 years. Forty years of his law enforcement career have been with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, where he worked in security services, support services and field services divisions.
